Usually you come back from vacations nice and relaxed, tan, a few books read, and ready to start fresh! Well, I'm ready for a week worth of sleep!

Bass Lake has come and gone and what a fun trip it was. Gone are the days where we would just sit on the dock talking/gossiping, lay out, read a book, slept in till God woke us or it was just too hot to sleep, sit in the house all day and watch TV, eat Que Bueno from the crock pot (a Bass Lake essential!), or take the boat out for a swim at the damn and not worry when we had to be back. Our days now consist of waking up at 6am because the kids don't know the meaning of sleep, making sure they are all feed before us, getting their swim suits on, lathering them up with sunscreen, getting them all on the boat, forcing them to ski or go on the tube all why they are kicking and screaming at the top of their lungs!

Some highlights of the trip included:

* Most of the kids learning to ski, especially Baby Kate. I mean seriously, I don't think her mom or her dad ever played a sport in their life and she was screaming to get in the water and try. She may have been dragged across the lake crying most of the time, but she still tried. That's more than we can say for Muffy and Lauren whose parents are college All Americans!! Muffy would cry at the sight of the water. I think she only got in the water once the entire week.

* Ice Cream trips to the Pines for the kids that tried to ski.

* Kate spending the majority of her time caged in her pack n play.

* Lauren always saying she's ski tomorrow, but when tomorrow came she would say, "I ski tomorrow"!

* Poppy trying to take 4 kids out on the kayak and without even getting past the dock, having it tip!

* Getting back from a trip around the lake and all the kids wanting to go back out again!

Bass Lake 2008 was a great trip and we made lots of memories! The kids had a great time and for the most part were very well behaved. Here are a few pictures of everyone!

Poppy trying to kayak...he's got 5 people in a 3 seater

Yeah, we knew they wouldn't make it too far!

For all wondering with Jillian was...she was so scared that she swam so fast to the dock and got out before we could even get there to take a pic.
