We've been doing some home improvements around here, but not by choice. We had a whole-house humidifier put into our home. It is dry here, especially in the winter, so we decided to splurge and get the humidifier. Everything looked great and our humidity in our house was rising, but so was the water in our basement. They didn't install the humidifier correctly and water was leaking all over the place. They quickly came out to repair it, but the following day when the inspectors came to assess the damage, they realized it was much worse than first anticipated. It had leaked to our bathroom and bedroom on the other side of the wall, including the side wall and the front of the utility closet. That's the bad news. Good news? New carpeting for us!!! And we don't have to pay! (I kinda feel bad for whoever screws something up and has to deal with Bill.) The other good news is that we're gonna remove some carpet on our main floor and replace it with the hard wood floors that we have throughout the house. This little carpeted walkway has been my nemesis ever since we moved in. It's the main artery into our living room and kitchen and it's carpeted!! I can't wait to get the hardwood floors and not have to worry about it getting dirty!

Oh no!! At least they are replacing the carpet for you and fixing everything!! Sorry you had deal with that in your new house though, that's never fun!!

OMG Paige. What a bummer..especially having to deal with it when you have a newborn. At least you get some new carpet and hardwood floors. I hope it works out and isn't too much of a hassle.
Thank God you discovered it before there was mold damage. That would have been horrible! You would have had to move out until it was cleaned up. What a pain in the you know what, but you are getting new carpet and hardwood before Hailey is all over the ground, that's a plus.
Oh man, that is the last thing you want happening when you have a new baby. Sorry you had to deal with that.
